WORDS TO A FRIEND

My heart skipped a beat when I checked out my e-mail and read these" words to a friend."  Tears came to my eyes from the words I read.  He basically said; "When the student is ready the teacher appears". He found the teacher in me to open his heart and mind. Wow, what a blessing!   Dennis Folger is a Studio technician, song writer, musician and gave me permission to post his powerful words.

Here's how it happened..."Early one morning, I was struck with this immense energy...and with it, I was overcome with a powerful emotion.  Immediately I took to writing determined to translate what I was feeling into words  As I wrote...I thought nothing of it as words came out so quickly as some energy was channeling through me  We are all human.  We all share similar experiences at some point in our lives..the ups, the downs, the good, the bad and at some point we all come to that proverbial crossroads.  It's at this point we meet or gravitate toward those that are like-minded or who will lead us in the right direction.
It was because of such experiences and because of certain people that I was able to write the words I wrote.  It was intended for only the eyes I wrote it for and among these---someone I'm proud to call a friend---Barbara Stabiner."                 Dennis Folger

                                         WORDS TO A FRIEND

As we go through this life
We walk down a road
It often narrows
Turning bitterly cold

With eyes on the horizon
A new day draws near
And gone with it
are yesterday's troubles and fears

We come from a crossroads
from time to time
Seeking a direction
Looking for a sign

Along the way
We sometimes tire
Yet, it's at that moment
We meet those who inspire

With such inspiration
We begin to shift
And in time we realize
We've been given a gift

A gift not of silver, not of gold
A gift not bought, nor can it be sold
For it is formless, it has no ranks
And for this gift, I give many thanks

How do I know these things to be true?

Well, that my friend,
is purely simple...
I wrote these words
For the likes of you.....
